Just 4 Fun

Paula's post made me think....how many of us have nicknames for our babies before their real name is chosen or disclosed to the group.  I dont remember doing that the first time around...perhaps because of my nerves- I remember compairing her to her size- sunflower seed, pumpkin, etc.  This time I call baby- baby or until the last few weeks I call her VARI (that's right because she caused all my unsighly vericose veins).  I am hoping I will not become to attached and insist the name be something close (not that I can think of something close but you get my point!)..So did any of you actually do that?  Example, nickname Bubba but give them the name so their nickname really could be Bubba?  Just thought it would be fun to hear.

My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday. I do want to come up w/ a nickname just so I can stop calling it "it" or "baby"!! Lol! So far all I have is Snoopy.

I'm calling this new baby "Jake"

#1. Because we want anoher boy...
#2. IF it is a boy his name will be Jacob "Jake"
#3. Hubby and I can not agree on a girls name to save our lives....  if it's a her... she will be nameless or perhaps a symbol LOL........jk.

I think i've also referred to the babie's as Peanut..... and the new baby I've also referred to as "Newbie"

If its a girl you will have to call her Jakey.

I had a black cat. We thought it was a boy so we called it darth, for darth vador. Then when she had 6 kittens we knew it was a girl so we called her darthy. LOL

Emma was going to be either Emma or Zachary, so we called it EZ.

This one...no real nickname as I couldn't decide on a girls name. Now that we know it is a boy we just call him his name, which is Micah.

It was cool being surprised with Emma, but it is also cool bonding now with a boy who we already know is Micah, you know.

Cool question. Shari

We call our's "creampuff" Hubby came up with it one day and now it is affectionately greeted every morning and told goodnight before he goes to sleep...I think it is darling...not sure if we will find out the sex of the baby (only one more week from tomorrow till we can) so not sure if we will continue to call the baby that or not...It is much better than calling the baby "it" lol
